Sailor Moon Crystal: Arc 1 - Dark Kingdom (Episodes 1-14)

The Dark Kingdom Arc starts off introducing us to the inner Senshis - Moon, Mercury, Mars, Jupiter and Venus and the first few episodes moved along quite quickly and were quite enjoyable. The old anime was extremely slow and sometimes dragging on for too long - although the filler episodes added a lot of flavour and characterisation to each Sailor Senshi. I'm glad that SMC didn't have so many fillers though as I wouldn't want to watch them again in the reboot. There are obviously spoilers in this post so beware!

Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon - S.H. Figuarts Sailor Moon (First Press Limited Edition)

The first S.H. Figuarts release, Sailor Moon is a must have. I have to say, before getting this figure, I wasn't expecting much from S.H. Figuarts because some of the poor reviews online and word of mouth, but I really really enjoyed it. There is so much to do, and these figures look so much better in person and in a group than in individual photos. They are very detailed and each figure is decently priced.. Although I'm breaking the bank collecting all of them.

The appeal from Sailor Moon is of course as the main main character and the versatility of her accessories to create dynamic poses. The First Press edition also comes with two extra faces (crying and winking).

Cardcaptor Sakura - 1/7 ARTFX-J Figurines of Sakura Kinomoto and Li Syaoran

In these highly detailed sculptures, Sakura and Syaoran are dressed in their signature costumes. As always, Kobukiya figures come with amazing detail and this is clearly shown in Sakura's dress, wings, hair and Syaoran's attire. The figures look amazing, but I can't help but feel uneasy about Sakura's face. Perhaps because I am more used to the anime style face rather than her manga face, but I don't have the same issue with Syaoran's and I think that Syaoran's figure is definitely the best sculpture I've seen in all of the Cardcaptor releases so far. And it should be, since these are going to cost just over US$100 each.
